This past week at the Telluride Intermediate, Middle and High School prevention specialists from Freedom from Chemical Dependency were visiting the classrooms. The 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th grade students were able to benefit from a four day course focused on the prevention of substance abuse and how to help friends who may be dealing with substance abuse issues.

I would like to thank the Telluride Education Foundation and the Parent Student Teacher Organization) for providing grants to make this possible. This is an extremely valuable program for our kids and without their help it wouldn’t be possible. I would also like to thank the Barb and Dick Kearney for providing accommodations for the FCD specialists.

It is extremely important that we continue to pull together as a community to support our children and provide safe, positive events. Thank you again for all the support.
